YEPS Apprentices

We have two apprentices that have joined the YEPS Team.

Kira wanted to become an Apprentice Youth Worker as she has always been interested in youth work. She attended youth clubs when she was younger, as well as learning a little bit about it on courses at college.

She also used to volunteer in Valley’s Kids in Penygraig. Her duties there included helping the young people create things with arts and crafts, decorating cupcakes in the kitchen and supervising their play.

Kira likes shopping, eating out in restaurants, visiting theme parks and going to concerts.

Lewis studied at Ferndale Community school and then went to college to train to become a qualified mechanical engineer.

Lewis wanted to become a youth worker due to enjoying youth club in school, he always found a connection with youth workers and found it easier to talk to youth workers than anyone else, as they understood issues/problems a young person would go through. The lessons Lewis learnt from them he hopes to pass on to the young people he’ll work with on his journey as a youth worker.

His hobbies include rugby, golf and socialising with friends.

He is now our digital Apprentice working close with Abbie to promote our social media.

Both Kira and Lewis look forward to seeing you in YEPS youth clubs and activities in the future!
