Member of Youth Parliament Recruitment

UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) votes are coming up in the new year!
RCT have two spaces for young people to represent us at
the UKYP.

A new term in office is coming up and young people across RCT need to help us vote for our next two
representatives.

WHAT IS THE UK YOUTH PARLIAMENT (UKYP)?

The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP)
Primarily, the UK Youth Parliament will ensure that the young people of the United Kingdom are given a voice on any issue that affects them, as laid out in Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
The UK Youth Parliament and its members seek to influence policy and
decisions that affect young people, at every level.

It is made up of more than 300 young people aged between 11 and 18 years, elected as Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) to represent the views of their peers. It provides opportunities for young people to bring about social change through meaningful representation and campaigning.

Young people vote for their MYPs in elections every two years! The term of office for the UK Youth Parliament starts the 1st April and ends 31st March.
