It’s that time of year again, and the Zoom Film Festival is back in RCT with a jam-packed programme of activity.

Tuesday March 2nd

10am -11:30am @ Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd – Question Time (aimed at young people aged 11+ max.30 places available)

Workshop with Miranda Ballin to develop interview techniques based around film clips which you will watch and interpret. Watch clips of both good and bad interviews, talk about and critique them and then have a go yourself.

10am – 1pm @ YMCA, PontypriddSound and film: hands-on workshop (aimed at young people aged 11+ max.16 places available)

Young people will work in teams to learn about sound in film. We’ll look at some examples of the way sound is used in film, and participants will then use Garageband music software to create dramatic scores for a short suspense sequence. They’ll go on to produce ‘montage’ films by editing images to music and adding effects using Final Cut Express video editing software.

4pm – 6:30pm @ Muni Arts Centre, PontypriddStreet Dance Workshop and Screening of “You Got Served” (aimed at primary & secondary max. 50 places available)

Street Dance workshops with the Choreographer of Jukebox Juniors Liara Williams. Learn to dance like the stars of the Sky 1 hit show “Got to Dance” with the teacher of the Cardiff based group Jukebox Juniors.

Then enjoy “You Got Served” on the Big Screen! The exciting drama about the promising and unstoppable dance crew from Los Angeles, California who participate in street dancing battles at a warehouse owned by a local club owner, Mr. Rad. Mr. Rad is highly respected and is looked at as a father-figure or mentor.

A must for all budding dancers!

Friday March 5th

12:30 – 1:30pm @ Muni Arts Centre – What’s next? Careers surgery; advice from Cyfle, skillset and SSAW (aimed at young people 14+ approx. 200 places available)

In association with Skillset Screen Academy Wales (SSAW) this is your chance to find out what the media industry in Wales has to offer! Meet the next generation of Welsh film makers and discuss your career options with Cyfle.

Want to have a career in the media? But not sure what to do next? Come along for advice given by industry professionals on what direction to take and training that is available. Think Wales hasn’t got much to offer? You’ll be surprised! Come and see the next generation of Welsh film makers and see how it’s done, and then speak to Cyfle about the next steps to take.

4pm – 5pm @ Muni Arts Centre – Secret Masterclass  (aimed at young people 14+ approx. 200 places available)
